what is this??
jpeg.boats is a website run by rockfish5 and thingers. we host stuff for people to use for free. we host everything on home servers (mainly shitty old laptops).
we started this project because one of us thought "hey wouldn't it be cool if we started a website??" and thingers just so happened to have an old laptop that we use as a server.
why is it called jpegboats? whats a jpegboat?
originally we were going to buy the domain jpeg.horse but SOMEONE already bought it before us, so we looked for a cheap TLD that looked interesting to us. we thought about buying jpeg.pizza, but jpeg.pizza was pretty expensive. that's when we found the .boats TLD, which just so happened to be one of the cheaper options. we picked the jpeg part of jpegboats because both of us like JPEGMAFIA.
